Performing Arts and Composer Representation
From 2012-2023, Bill Doggett was a publicist, marketing and relationships manager in The Classical Performing Arts.
Founder and President of Bill Doggett Productions, his business model of Relationships management, marketing and publicity is based on his 1994-1999 experience as a founding board of director of LA Opera’s African American For LA Opera on which he served in Artist relations, marketing research and as Ambassador for the Board in interface with artistic teams at San Francisco and Seattle Opera.
With high profile composer and musician clients, he has created a distinguished reputation with national and international stakeholders.
Doggett’s work encompassed a hybrid of Performing Arts sales and marketing and publicist tasks. Such have included media campaigns, marketing and placing client stories in regional and national Performing Arts media including radio and television. He has written press releases, media alerts, program notes and has managed client public relations.
In the area of sales and marketing, he has been the first point of contact {Relationships manager} for the high profile African American composers, Anthony Davis, Adolphus Hailstork, Black Scottish composer, Richard Thompson and younger generation composer, Ozie Cargile introducing/marketing their music to Conductors and Artistic teams orchestras in The States and in Europe.
In 2021-22, he represented British composer, James B Wilson in marketing and placement of “Remnants” for Speaker and Orchestra premiered in London England in 2020 for its American premiere in Season 2022-23 by The Oregon Symphony
In February 2022, Doggett was the Eulogist and Concert Lecturer for the late Oakland California conductor, Michael Morgan in Pandemic delayed concerts that he programmed and was to conduct at San Francisco Symphony.
With a background as a photographic designer and short documentary film maker, Doggett was engaged as a film creative advisor for Washington National Opera’s 2020 Social Justice short film, Monuments of Hope, Nicole Heaston’s Lift Every Voice and Sing and the executive producer for two films that celebrated the career and legacy of renowned American composer, Adolphus Hailstork

- Liased 2020-22 with Artistic teams at London’s Chineke! Orchestra and Royal Scottish National Orchestra for programming curation of Adolphus Hailstork repertoire for Seasons 2023-24
- Relationships Manager for UK Black-Scottish composer Richard Thompson in securing the Januariy 2021 world premiere by The Royal Scottish National Orchestra of the Orchestral Suite from his Chamber Opera “The Mask in The Mirror” based on the life of famous 19th century Black poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar. Introduced Thompson’s exquisite Art Songs to renowned baritone, Thomas Hampson and to singers internationally 2013-21. Introduced and marketed “The Mask in The Mirror”, a Chamber Opera to regional American opera companies. Responsible for coveted KUSC-FM Jim Svejda program “An Evening with Richard Thompson” in 2014
